    Hello All,

So when i floor it, a lot of boost comes on around 3100, then it noticeably dips down until about 5500, and then rips again from there. Is there anything I can do to smoothen that out?

Boost leak. Check your logs and get a boost gauge. The car is most likely cutting power until it thinks everything is okay again.

Sounds like the blinker fluid is leaking and fouling up the boost servo motors.

NOS, you need NOS- one of the big ones. Actually, make it two.

why don't you drive it below 3100RPM?

    am i cool yet?

  10. 10-01-2012 10:43 PM #10
leaking bypass valves? Could also be a wastegate problem. If the ECU sees an overboost situation, it will most likely pull back WGDC to bring boost pressure down.

As an owner of a B5S4, I can tell you all of your problems stem from the inability to correctly identify an appropriate forum after 8 years, the car is just mad at you.
I am selling a lot of different parts, please identify what you are pming about

Yea, well my car is fixed for the most part. I have installed a Samco TBB, APR DV's, MAF, Stock Intake, Spark Plugs..I think that's it. It really helped all my issues, but I thought the surging could be fixed like on a 1.8t with an N75 valve or something like that. And I post here, because the S4 forum on vortex is terrible, and I hate the layout of audiworld and audizine. Plus I get to read all the super witty comments from all you comedians

How am I dumb? By using a free resource instead of having to pay 90 bucks an hour for someone to diagnose my car? Sounds real dumb...

I'm trying to buy parts and then bring to the shop to avoid the extra expense of them upcharging the parts I would need.

Many good shops roll diagnostic fees into the labor. i.e. 1 hour labor + 4 hour job ends up being a total of 4 hours instead of 5.

As for throwing parts at a car so that the shop doesn't mark them up, when you really don't know what's wrong with it... debatable but I'd just pay the diagnosis. It often pays for itself. If Issue A leads to B and you're telling them to replace B, that's all they're going to do, without fixing a root cause. But w/e.

I understand going to the shop to have it diagnosed, but honestly I'm just killing time at work, and thought "Hey, maybe someone will have something useful to input" instead of man you're dumb, and stop flooring it, and dumb F&F quotes...this place really is turning into a bunch of aholes who just sit around waiting to sh!t on someone because they're losers with nothing else to do

how is this the wrong forum for questions about a 2001 S4? call me old school but back in the day... people used this to help each other out with car questions and issues. not just to be a bunch of douche bags.

*******, I also posted this in the B5 S4 Forum. Your argument is retarded...

I originally posted this in the car lounge since it gets much more traffic than this forum, but apparently you can only ask what car you should buy for 4 grand there, so the Mods moved it

this is actually sad, I find myself coming to the "tex" less and less for this simple reason. I was actually hoping to read that you found a solution to this

I still read TCL, but eff this place for anything but superficial BS. The best part is, my argument for posting in TCL is proven by the fact that my original post in the B5 forum has 115 views and not one reply...

I had a similar problem, find someone local with a Vag-Com to read the codes before you dump money into something that might not be the problem. Are you getting a CEL? My problem was 2 bad EGT sensors.
