A little curious if the multifunction steering wheel from a 2012 Tiguan (or any other VW for that matter) would be plug and play into a 2010 tiguan. I do have the white MFD and the controls on my steering wheel already, but I'm spoiled by the options on my CC as compared to the few button on my tig.

    Thanks in advance

Yes, you can do it, but you need to purchase a steering wheel control module also. I tried it and the buttons wouldn't work.

Should be plug'n play when you get the right SW control module.

So no buttons worked at all or the ones that already existed on the OEM wheel still functioned but the additional ones did not.

I believe higher end Tigs already have the correct steering control. Don't quote me on that though.

I had a 2010 SEL and none of the buttons or the horn would work.

    Thanks for the clarification

Now I'm debating if the hassle is even worth it

Did you try Vag Com coding? My local dealership did one on an SEL of some year and all that was needed was Vag Com.

Your best bet is to head over to Golfmkv.com and see what the MK5 guys need to do in order to get an MK6 steering wheel to work.
