I think the lack of answers is because there was no real question asked.

Basically you said, I stopped working, where do I start?

It's not a thread jack if the thread was useless in the first place is it???

My 9a just spun a bearing....so I'm looking at new main and rod bearings. Motor was allegedly rebuilt not that long ago, so I'm not sure what else will be necessary. This means new oil pump, new water pump, new sensors everywhere, new rings and recently honed. I am going to hot tank it since the pieces of the bearing could've been floating around.

    Pulling everything out on wed.
Besides resizing the crankshaft and obtaining over sized bearings, is there any other suggestions/ideas/tips?

Wish I knew. I suppose when I get the block out ill know more. Although it looked a bit like the bearings didn't /weren't really snapped in tightly to the rod end caps. Guy that sold the motor assembled it himself....??? Can't really think of what else could've caused it...I had just changed the oil to 20w but ran 10w before. Initially thought it was a lifter, but after replacing all lifters and the sound still existing, I dropped the pan...

Drove it for the first time today. Tried to keep it under 3500. How long is the optimal break in period??
The pistons are used, but new rings and refreshed crank with honed cylinders.

    Drove great btw!
Although the defrost setting on the HVAC is making a crazy buzzing coming out of the drivers side of lower dash. . I'm wondering if its a fuse. .?

Schools of thought differ on the break in. Usually about 1000 miles but valvers never really warm up until about 70k and there is the school of thought that says you should be running it hard (once warm) within the first 20 mi.

General consensus also says to use pure mineral oil for the break in.

Sounds like your blower fan resistor is gonna fail soon.

Been driving it when the weather is cooperating. God it's fun to have the 16v back on the road.
Have a oil leak going now, so I'll have to see which seal I didn't quite sort properly. Only other issue was when I took the fuel tank all the way down to empty without knowing it.
