I noticed the big drop off of activity when the forum switched to vBulletin from ZeroForum in May 2010.

It took some getting used to.

There is some info on the site statistics here

    http://www.statmyweb.com/site/forums.vwvortex.com

And it shows the big decline in traffic in 2010 and that it hasn't ever really recovered.

But with that said, I'm still here.

I haven't been here as long as some of you but i tend to stay away from posting anymore. I have noticed that there aren't alot of familiar names anymore.
    1. The Vortex is full of Brand Name Whores ,It's not their fault, That's how they were raised

    2. What i post is strictly my opinion, If you don't like it go cry to your mother, even though she hates you too

Yeah thats pretty much when i quit coming here. I was an advertiser at the time and was never compensated for the down time when the site crashed. When it came back up and things were dead they tried to say that everything was the same and wanted me to pay the same RIDICULOUS amout to advertise.

like bad brad said... youngsters just trying to keep there "cool kid hip cheap" car running. Once its dead, they buy a MK6 if they like the brand, and we never see them again. yay!!!! It would be interesting to see actually a % on how many build threads get finished.

not sure which threads are more ridiculous these days, the "og's looking for fallen homies" threads or the "how can I make my mk2 cool" threads...

I've been driving modified mk1's and mk2's for close to 15 years now with no knowledge of vortex until a handful of years ago. This place has been cheesy from the day I joined so just assumed it always has. Must of missed out on the hay day around here but it's pretty dumb how some of you bash people just cause they weren't on this website back in the day

sorry for adding my bio to your thread, I'll go back to being nobody now

mk2s are getting older, and more difficult to take care of, just thinning out the herd of the people who dont have the love to build and keep them going. the real mk2 guys will keep dicking around withh these cars.

Nobody is bashing anyone. I simply didnt understand the bios... it would be like asking for pictures of red cars and people posting green cars then getting mad when you say you are looking for green cars.

I see not much has changed...

I stopped coming into the MK2 forum, when I got into the PAOM forum. Now I barely go in there... maybe it's time for another visit.

Im a OG, I lurk more, and sometimes post up info or answer a question someone post. Also people have not come back due to people like ass's and e-thugging. Started becoming a bitch fest and complaining too. No matter the way you look at it some people have made the forums not worth coming to.

I hate circle jerk threads like this, started by self proclaimed "OG's" who in reality stopped coming on here after multiple threads about taking money and not delivering product for months on end

Right.. because not having a mk2 couldnt have anything to do with it. Its obviously because we had upholstery jobs run over. Not jobs that we ripped people off on, just ran over a month or two...god forbid. I had to run

Add in the idea of dealing with broke dbags like you and its amazing that i could stay away..

Its out of a 08 Rabbit with the shifter mounted on top of the tunnel. The height worked out perfect. Just had to make a new hole to run the cables through.

That car is long gone. The floors were crap, found out when we went to put the cage in. It was a vrt. Used the mkv shifter to try it out.

Yup, totally broke. How about those Happich popouts you were going to sell me, in what was it, your 3rd part out thread? Biggest time waster ever. A month of PM's and no responses. Last I heard was when can you come get them. Sweet. Thanks.
