This is from Bosch online in reference to the end of production of the VE pumps at its Feuerbach plant.

For 37 years, the distributor injection pump (VE pump) was manufactured at the Feuerbach plant. Now, 27 million pumps later, the last one has rolled off the production line. Management, associates and former associates were all on hand to bid the pump farewell. “The VE pump helped the diesel gain widespread acceptance in the passenger car segment,” said Werner Haag, Technical Plant Manager at Feuerbach. “The pump’s success was only possible thanks to the excellent team here.” Aglan Salih from the production line presented the last pump to Klaus Bohler, vice-president application and sales, Diesel Systems. Bohler remarked that the VE had been a “trademark for the plant.” He took the last pump with him to India, where he presented it to the Indian automaker and Bosch customer Mahindra. The VE pump is still being produced for regional markets at the Indian plant in Jaipur, as well as in Brazil, Japan, and China.
