I can get on board with selling a dumb product to dumb people for profit, but I'd be a bit uneasy about sending 2 ton steel objects down the road with false confidence in the drivers that their tires will hold up in an emergency at 60mph (or any other speed for that matter).

In other words, the innocent drivers could be paying for the dumb drivers' mistakes.

My post was in jest.... but I also seriously doubt such a product would change the behavior of those drivers. They will drive until their tires pop regardless of what fake looking tire tread products are available.

My guess is the little guy was sitting on the curb. See the curb rash before the rat? The driver probably rubbed up on the curb and smashed the rat between his wheel and curb, pinching it in between the hub cap and wheel.

EDIT: nvm, the hub cap has no curb rash, but the wheel does. I'm just as confused as you now.

For many, that's not an option ... try owning and maintaining a car at $1200/month gross wages (minimum wage).

You're kidding right? It's called lack of foresight and financial planning. If you buy a vehicle you have to budget a certain amount each month, year, etc for maintenance. If you can't afford to maintain it don't buy a car. I don't care if you make $2 an hour or $500 an hour. Ride a bicycle, get a motorcycle, carpool with someone, ride the bus......there are ALWAYS other options.

Seriously, that's the question because guess what, those minimum wage jobs are not in the ghetto or government housing, they are were people want to work ... which often involves great distances in the US. For instance, the CLOSEST rental building to where I work is 10 miles away.

Now, yes, I am upper level management and can afford my 60/mile a day commute, but for many, that is simply not an option. Again, work with people who have very few options and you'll realize that brakes are just not very high on the list or priorities when feeding their kids and feeding themselves come first.

Don't like it? Raise the minimum wage, raise the welfare payments, stop kicking people off the "government dole" because you're a vindictive c*nt, but whatever you do, don't tell someone that is trying to manage with their own lot in life that they aren't doing it right because they choose to feed and clothe themselves over spending inflated prices on auto parts at the local Midas.

Link to the mouse pic? I collected hubcaps as a kid, and found not one but two of the same Buick Century hubcaps with mouse skeletons fused to the inside of the clip ring. Those hubcaps stuck out far enough for there to be a big space for a mouse to climb in and sleep, and the scaly rust on the clips likely provided a surface for the now-dead mouse to stick to.
