I need a main engine harness for our obd2 jetta. (98 jetta glx). I assumed obd2 (96-99.5) was all the same. However, I am being told that I can only use a 98 harness. Is this true or a line of ****?

You actually should use a 24v harness, it adds vvt, and add a couple liters

to bad it will not plug into a ce2 fuse panel, will not add extra liters and will not add vvt. this isn't my first time inside the wiring of a car, but i do not want to buy a harness and find out once installed that it is the incorrect one.

on the later vr harness they came with a leak detection pump. But besides that there all basically the same.
