pretty much admits to street racing in his post.

regardless R32 was at fault as well.

    just an ugly situation.

Curious why the BMW was driving so slowly.

Silly that the R32 managed to smack into him though.

In any event, In for more details->Something doesnt sound right here

I love how as more info comes to light about the fact that he was street racing, etc... the M5 owner has just stopped posting in there... I also like how he claims "why would the kid get out and say I'm so sorry if they weren't speeding?" Ummmmmm, Hello?!? What car lover wouldn't get out apologizing to someone if you got into an accident, it's the respect of the car... From the accounts I've seen/heard, the R was doing the speed limit (maybe give or take a few, but within 5 miles of the limit), he was doing 30 (as has been proven)... Both were at fault basically, the M5 for being stupid and then trying to clear his ass by saying he wasn't racing... The R for not paying attention, he was obviously paying attention to something else, cuz a car doing 30 doesn't come out of nowhere in front of you... But either way, the M5 guy needs to stop trying to screw over the other guy and playing like he's innocent...

I read the other thread and I didn't see anything saying the R was doing the speed limit. I did see a number of posts saying the R was doing closer to 70mph.
If you look at the pics, the damage to the R doesn't look like the kind of damage you'd get in a ~25mph collision (front vehicle going ~30mph, rear vehicle hitting it at ~55mph).
I see these kinds of accidents regularly here in LA, and even been rear-ended a few times. That's not damage you get going the speed limit, sorry.

Yah, the M5 guy was an asshat for (presumably) being the same one that people mentioned had been racing and doing 100+mph, but he wasn't the one that rear-ended someone else, was it?

Sure, maybe the M5 was stupid for only doing 30mph in a 55mph... unless there was traffic (which seems likely). Nowhere on that thread does anyone mention whether or not that was the case, just that the M5 and the GTI were driving side-by-side.
Does that mean that when I'm stuck in traffic doing 15-20mph and some asshat rear-ends me doing 50mph because he just gunned from his on-ramp, it's my fault too?

How about we just wait to see if the police report ever shows up on the forum before blindly just being dicks to this guy and blaming him for being rear-ended?

Also the M5 and White car were reported by other witnesses to be street racing on their way down to the show on the same highway near the Advanced Auto Parts store weaving in and out of traffic.
Not trying to argue with ya, hence why I deleted the rest of your post... All valid points... I wasn't trying to say who was at fault and who wasn't at fault... But it sure seems like the BMW owner is trying to put all the blame on the VW guy, when there have been people saying he was racing, etc... That's why I said the VW guy obviously wasn't paying attention, I don't know about anyone else, but when I'm coming onto a freeway onramp (even if I've punched it), I pay attention and if there's traffic it's pretty obvious...

Both cars have been said to have been seen racing previously, nobody has mention traffic and plenty of people have said they rolled by and saw it, without mentioning traffic... Maybe they lined up again to go head to head from a roll, maybe not... But still, he needs to stop going out to make a VW owner look like the bad guy and push all the blame off himself... That's all I'm saying...

Seems like alot of people want to stick up for the R guy. Doesnt really matter why the M5 was going under the speed limit (people are saying he was simultaneously street racing and going 15 under alongside a GTI?), there can be all kinds of reasons legitimate or not for a car in front of you to be proceeding slowly at any time and if you hit them its basically all your fault. Period. You have to be ready at any moment for the cars in front of you to do the stupidest thing possible and be able to stop if they do. If you cant then your following too close. You cant blame the other guy when you got rear ended because people saw him race once. Everyone on here has driven dangerously at some point I am sure and this time somebody didnt get away with it. Man up and be glad nobody got hurt.

Agree with SKNK on this one.
I didn't post to start an argument, I was just curious who's it was and what their side of the story was - since it isn't in the other threads.

If you hit someone from behind, both state laws and insurance companies consider it to be 100 percent your fault. It doesn't matter what the car in front was doing. It's very clear cut.

Just the facts please. We already know that he was going WAY too slow, but what happened on your end that led up to this unfortunate series of events?

Yeah, I'm being nosey but I'm sure that I'm not the only one who wants both sides of the story. Please enlighten us!
