Hi Guys,

I'm a BMW (128i) owner from New York. I did once have a '78 Scirocco and a few beetles before that.

My son and his band are on their way from Boston to a gig in Montreal.
The check engine light in his '05 Passat 1.8t wagon came on while on the road.

Everything seems to be working fine.
Of course my code reader is in my basement.

Is there anyone in the Montreal area that could either check the codes or recommend a shop that won't rip him off?

His next stop is Toronto and then Chicago.
I just want to be sure the kids don't get stranded along the way.
