    Hmmm... a little pricey....
I wonder how he located the container and why the hell someone would even hang onto a bunch of carpets for 30 years
Id buy one for a hundy maybe but I'll just live with my ill fitting aftermarket carpet for now :p

It's really not much more than the aftermarket carpets and completely worth it for the fit

I'd be interested to see the VW Stamps on them.. IIRC the carpet kits had a printed VW logo/part number on the backside of the carpet kits.. very cool find.

Bummer you wouldn't be able to find the side footwell panel pieces and good luck matching color and weave pattern.

Those are great if you're trying to recreate a time capsule. Or if there was no option beyond the Stock Interiors product. But the whole Newton kit be had for the same money including shipping. And it fits perfect. Though it does lack the rubber overlay at the firewall to the right of the clutch... at least mine does. Looks like they now show it on their site.

I don't know what **** you're smoking but I took the blue pill and bought the newton carpet. It cost me with shipping a **** ton more than what MK1autohaus is charging. WTF are you on??? Take the red pill and see how far the rabbit hole goes and get the original carpet that actually fits. newton was NOT a direct fit. Had to cut and stretch to get to fit.

Mine fit perfectly. They have 2 versions due to the different US seat rails. Never said shipping was the same. The total cost of carpet plus shipping for mine was the same. Got nothing against moogie. I bought way more stuff from him than I want to think about. So to answer, I guess I'm smoking a big bowl of my opinion.

so you won't let it die? Ok, fine... time to get the dick out. Where's your invoice showing the same price? Mine is almost twice what MK1autohaus is charging including shipping. These carpets are a good domestic find. That was the point of my post but then you have to come here, eat all my chips, drink all the soda, **** on my sofa, and then leave...

well if you want to get serious about it.....

my 78 as far as i know has a stock carpet
    it is a 2 door
and it has the seam down the middle
    probally stock right?

the 91EA cabriolet I found also with stock carpet
    was a two piece carpet

now, what the USA production probally did was create a single piece 2 door carpet
i know my 4 door 81 is a single piece carpet

so.....who is complaining about a two piece carpet?

Maybe I missed something. I certainly am not trying to cause you so much grief. I am really sorry that I made you take your dick out. And I do stand corrected. I spent 214 pounds shipped (129 for the carpet and 85 for the shipping). That shipping included a bunch of other stuff, but the carpet was the largest, so to be fair I will not prorate it. In today's dollars that would be $346.53. I'm honestly not sure what that equaled in March 2011 dollars (when I purchased). Please accept my sincerely artificial apologies as I was mistaken by nearly $33. And I agree completely, it is a great find. Also your posts are dramatic in such a way that it is nearly impossible not to respond. And sorry about the sofa...

All bull**** aside. I really was just expressing my opinion. Not taking issue with your point. And barring any further unsubstantiated allegations of furniture desecration, I am totally letting it die.

I don't mean to start another kerfuffle here, but it looks like the seatbelt bolt holes are in the wrong location. On my '83 they are behind the seat rails, not above.
