    I had a superb time!

I have more but the school WiFi sucks....

Sadly I didn't get to go to the actual show on Sunday due to a backed up interstate and school the following Monday but it was a blast, I can't wait for next years already!!! Haha

the show and venue sucked hard
a lot of the regulars and the truly amazing cars were a no show.
there was an excessive amount of non VAG cars almost to the point that you'd be hard pressed to see this is a VW/Audi show
too many h2o virgins and dumb punks

that said I had an awesome time, lol

    even including this...

thanks to everyone at the old landing road joint for your help and a great time this weekend!

i thought the new venue was pretty great.

    organized parking/judging? no.
    unfortunate traffic for some? yes.
    great locale? yes.

    the venue has potential.

but needs to be 1000% more organized.

until the show has class parking again, i have no intention of paying admission or registering a car again.

had u ever been to h2o when it was at ocean downs?
that by far was one of the best venues of all time

it was cool when some rare and very unique JDMs, BMW, mercs etc etc used to crash the party.
in general i don't see as a problem.

but seriously i go to h2o to see VAG cars not a conga line of 50+ s2ks

Yea i've been to the downs for H20.
It was organized, but it was basically a field.

The whole campground thing was pretty great, but you're right in that it did need to have group parking.

Ohhh shaddup and go change your oil pan!

I personally don't mind other makes, because I know everyone (or almost everyone) is there because they're a car enthusiast. Besides, some of my favourite moments had nothing to do with cars. House parties, going to the beach, fishing, those were all my favourite times! The fact that I could sit on the sidewalk and watch tons of nice cars drive past was just a bonus.

I had a great time, mostly because after 5+ years, blood, sweat, coffee, beer, and rum, I finally got to cruise the strip in this heap:

As mentioned, there was a high amount of momo activity at night. Instead of risking getting pulled over or getting hit by someone, I opted to hit the bottle and watch the action on foot with friends.

Seeing things other than VW/Audis didn't bother me. Seeing what people do to "brand new cars" did though.
Want to roll your fenders or Lamin-X your lights in clear or yellow for THE ABSOLUTE CHEAPEST PRICE IN THE GTA? IM me!

what does it matter to you if other enthusiasts come out for the week?
the SHOW was vw as far as the eye could see, with very very few other makes.

granted, im sure a whole lot of people didnt actually get to the show because of the accident.

personally, i'm glad other cars show up.
there are only so many VWs on RSs that I can handle, that anything else cool that comes out to cruise OC is more than welcome.

and before someone complains about the *others* being douches; **** off, every scene has the same ****. i didn't see any jdm owners pissing in their hatch.

I guess I'm just a cranky old purist.
I grew up in a time where if you brought anything other than a VW to a VW show, you got your ass laughed out of town.
Don't get me wrong, I love many different types of cars and many can attest to that. I just feel there is a time and place for them.

if you went to the show you'd have noted that it was 99% vw.
there were so few other makes @ the show that i can't even think of any; except for a couple miatas in the woods

if anything the vw scene should be flattered that others are taking notice of our ancient crap

^^ I was there and it wasn't my first time ... the strip was not 90+% VAG...there are plenty of Importfest type shows across NA that are cool and offer that variety, However, (imo) non VAG cars screaming around OCMD during a VAG event just adds fuel to the fire for the local authorities.

    besides....I love my ancient vehicles

on another note..that Datsun was one of the sexiest cars that I saw that weekend

Just remember, and I wasn't there, if there's a bunch of other makes around the VAG cars at a VAG show, we must all be doing something right to make them want to come out and see our cars.

I agree with Dave on the old school way it used to be and I prefer it that way also.

Bahahahaha! So true. Idiots are idiots, they don't all necessarily drive one make. I saw plenty of VW drivers being dumba**es down there too.

Know what H2O would be if none of the non-VAG cars showed up? All the same VW's you saw minus the non-VAG cars. It's not like if we chase everyone else out of town, MORE VW drivers are going to show up. Just take the rest of the cars as a bonus.

Should we have told Bronson not to come because he doesn't have a VW?

What if I told you that some of the people driving lowered Subarus and Toyotas are past/present owners of MK1 and MK2 project cars? The VW community has always had a good thing going for it, I don't blame them for wanting to come even if they don't drive one or are simply friends of those that own them. I bring my girlfriend to shows, and she owns a freaking Kia. Doesn't stop her from enjoying herself though.

I think some of you also fail to realize that Coastal Highway is a public road. So are the parking lots where the meet are held. There were non-MK2s at the MK2 meet, there were also non MK3s at the MK3 meet. I haven't read any complaints about that. What about all of the worked over Honda Ruckuses, or Cafe Racer'd bikes that were on the strip?

Yes, I do agree that there were people driving like dickbags in Mitsubishis, Hondas, etc. There were also just as many, if not more people driving like dickbags in VWs and Audis. If someone is going to show off and drive like an idiot, it doesn't matter what car they're in. Unfortunately, car shows attract these sort of people, along with the rest of us.

Here's a picture of a non-VW, at H2O. One of my favourite cars of the weekend.
