There's tons of pics floating around from official introductions, concepts and photoshops, GTI, standard, BlueMotion, etc. Can someone(s) please post pics (or links would suffice) of the wheel options with their names? I know the Detroit, but there are so many out there. Would be nice to have a visual index in one place.
So far, named options have included:
Denver
Detroit
Glendale
Updated Brooklyn
Rotary (not bad, if it's the one on Accessory page with the roof rack / cargo pod)
Blade (new 12-spoke, per the Accessory page)
I'm sure there are more. Some may just be for trade shows or marketing collateral. I know the split five-spoke on the 5-door silver looks pretty sharp, to my eye, at least.
Thanks in advance.

The 18" used in most of the promos are called "Durban" 7.5J ET51

Thanks for the input, folks. I don't have enough posts to put up pics from the auto shows. Of those on the onething.de website, I think the Serron 18 and Madrid 17 are two of the better looking ones, and showed up a lot on early pics.

Hello again, folks. Reviving my old thread, is there a resource / website that shows the Mk VII wheel options with names? The best I've seen so far is the one listed above (onething.de)
Dover 16"
Dijon 17"
Geneva 17"
Madrid 17"
Durban 18"
Serron 18"
I still think the Madrid looks the best of these, with Serron in second, though my daughter thought the Serron looks too much like a flower.
The Mk VII SportWagen is showing Durbans, the Mk VII GTI has 17" Brooklyn GTI (pretty sharp, IMHO, though they look kind of weird in motion / blurry) , and the Mk VII GTD has 17" GTD (?!) wheels.
I know there are a couple of others, such as the Blade & Rotary, but I can no longer find either online.
Anyone know of others? Or know of pics of Blade or Rotary?

Actually found some JPGs I'd archived with the Blade & Rotary on an external HD. The Blade is just a 12-spoke, along the lines of what you can get on Porsche Boxsters and Caymans, probably on 911 as well.
The Rotary is interesting, and looks a bit like a Serron, but angled at the hub. There are also blacked-out spokes in between the openings, sort of like the new Brooklyn.
I'd post them, but I'm still too much of a newb to be allowed to do so.
Does anyone know if the Madrid comes in an 18"?
Also, on the German page, you can pick the exterior color and wheel, then rotate the image with your color and wheel choices. Pretty slick.

You don't need any number of posts; you just need to host them online somewhere first, like photobucket for example, and then link to them, using the tools available when you create a post.

Thanks for the tip, John. I know some forums don't allow newbs to do much---like post pics---unless you've been there a while.

Most of those look hideous in my opinion. Wouldn't like to have to clean any of those! No rubber on them - hard ride and tramlining therefore. Get real, considering our deteriorating road surfaces.

Agreed, though most of them aren't in fact (or wouldn't be) as large on the car as they appear to be in those photo-shops above. I just really want to find out which of the 3 GTI wheels are which - but that should be doable tomorrow, as the Configurator on the German site should be updated to include the GTI - they say...

18" "Durban" wheels they've been using in a lot of the promo shots and on the station wagon look great to me, but would be nice in 19.

If you go to the configurator (I gave the link in my thread up above) you can now see the Brooklyn - it looks a lot like 18 inch Austin wheel but appears to have a painted surface, not machined.
The white car in front in this photo has the 18 in. "Austin" wheels

I like my standard fit Atlanta wheels with machined, polished faces but they're totally impractical if scuffed therefore I am glad that the standard alloys on the new MK7 here in the UK, are plain painted surfaces again. These are much easier to have refurbished or touched-up, if damaged on nasty granite kerbs.

Those Serrons in the Golf catalogue look horrible in real life on the mk7 .
Just look like cheap aftermarket wheels imo.
