Thread: Is it worth modding my b6?

  1. 10-03-2012 02:31 PM #1
I absolutely love my car, the chicks also dig it at school also haha! But I would like to take it to the next level.. Just a Tune and Bags.. My thing is, it's a 2006 with a 111,xxx miles.. Would it be worth it? I've done my plugs, and timing belt and it runs like a dream, and would like to keep it for another 4 years... How possible is this? Thanks

I think you should. Our cars are the ultimate sleeper of the VW world in my opinion when they are tuned.

mines at almost 100k and i just smacked on a big turbo and she is still running like a champ.

i think these are a good platform they need some baby sitting w/ the cam follower and the oil consumption but its nothing really all tht major

Maintenance is key, oil changes every 5k, checking coil packs, plugs, filters, most consider those pretty basic. PCV and DV are something to keep an eye on as they are prone to fail. If you need some guidance check out our service kits, they'll help give you an idea of some of the key points to watch out for. PM me with any other questions you may have!

Whats the difference between that DV and this one? Is it worth double the price?

That is the oem rev d DV its a poor design that..... in short doesn't perform well.

It is a plastic piston in a metal housing, it leaks boost so you spool slower and hold less boost (when tuned you see about 3 or so psi lower then you should)

I think its well worth the money esp if the 65$ rev d isnt performing 100%.

Nope, you shouldn't mod it, you should just give it to me instead
