...test is by ECM readings only. Reader says cat "not ready". Nu high flow cat much smaller than OEM; could it be not effective enough? Car 2001 Jetta WE has been driven 200+ miles to allow ECM reset after recent battery pull, but cat still not ready. Also 2nd Air Pump not ready. What up?

do you have a spacer for the 02 when you put that new DP in... I think the high flow cats you are suppose to get a spacer if you are worried about the code or use your stock cat... there is a thread on how to do that I think on here..requires a grinder and welder...

continue driving the car. as long as there is no check engine light the car does not see an issue with the cat or secondary air pump, it just hasnt set readiness. driving highway for 200 miles does not always set all the readiness, it has to be a series of cold starts and hot starts. i see the problem a lot being a tech with an inspection and emissions license.

... today mechanic doing inspection drove the car for 7 miles, stop and go, and the two items reset and no problem, after I drove it 150 interstate miles yesterday. Would have been nice to know the specific procedure for this specific car, but it ended well!
