I need a different option to power the tablet. Right now I have it running to the 12V power in front to charge it. So I just bought this to mount in the glove box. I think this will be a better option to charge it.

Hey guys, Just a little update on whats going on with the tablet. So I had the stock stereo moved to the trunk...still working on making the deck lid to mount the stereo. I notice every time I play anything through the aux line in the car there is a buzzing or hissing noise. It is pretty noticeable, and it makes the audio experience not very pleasant. I did some research online and it looks like there is a ground loop in the wiring harnesses of our cars. I am going to by a PAC Ground Loop Isolator for 3.5 MM Applications and see if that fixes the problem. If it does all will be gravy.

I'm trying to get a better understanding here. Are you using the factory unit simply for its amplifier or are you using it for CD's and SAT? If you aren't using it for anything other than speaker power have you considered a small 4-channel T class amp that can live behind the unit? I bet you could build a wiring harness that would interface right into the factory plug.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I am using the stock head unit for Cds, the amp, SAT, and the built in bluetooth.

Hey guys. Im going to bring this thread back to the top. I know its been awhile but I have a small update. I finally got around to installing the power inverter in my glove box. I had to extend the power and ground cables because they were way to short. I connected them directly to the battery and fit them behind the dash and into the glove box. This allows me to charge the tablet much faster. Here's what it looks like.
