Need some help - Was dropped by Nationwide Insurance because they said my car was modified and they do not insure modified vehicles.

Need to find a company that would have no problem insuring a modified/turbo car.

    suggestions and or comments welcomed

    Thanks in advance

did you try to add all of the modifications cost to the insurance policy too? they will usually charge more for that I have been told.

have you tried calling other companies and just insure it like it was stock?

I just insured mine through Progressive and listed it as stock. I figure if it gets wrecked I can buy it back from them for a lower price and part it out or whatever.

John, do they know your R is modifed? Geico told my wife that they couldn't insure her car because it was a "racecar" since it had an aftermarket exhaust and upgraded brakes. They even sent her a letter stating that they cannot insure it, lol.

well when i bought it 5 yrs ago it was stock and later modified but i dont think they know, i called and was told that if i wanted them to insure it modified i would have to have an adjuster look at it and adjust the premium for all the add ons so i left it alone since if something does happen ill strip the car down to stock or buy it back for parts so not really sure what the deal is but its got full coverage and hopefully will never have to use it
