I'm looking into having a body shop shave my side markers in the front bumper. Clean it up a bit. Anyways, does anyone know if I will get a code error cutting the wire right out, or leaving the bulb socket wrapped in electrical tape there with no bulb?

I know they sell painted matching side markers. But it doesn't look OEM to me. Had my body shop do this with my Corrado and 10+ years later, still can't tell anything was there.

Any help, would be greatly appreciated

There are no bulb out errors when the bulb is removed.

Not sure about cutting the wires, but I assume it would be the same. Personally I would leave the light clip intact, but just tuck it back up.

Thanks for the response....Id prefer leaving the light socket intact, hidden away....just wasn't sure.
