I was told It can't be done, besides, the 510 is buggy.

510 can be slower at times, but the 315's screen size is what kills it for me.

I don't think any versions of RNS-510 have built in bluetooth, you need 9W7 external module. Been searching all over on how to retrofit 9W7 with cars that had RNS-315. I'm assuming you have to splice into harness to get factory microphone to work on 9W7 module. Plus theres the issue of voice commands on the RNS-510, not clear if you can hook factory microphone into that and use 9W7 too. Would love to tackle this project but haven't found anyone who has done this. Would love to find video or pictures of step-by-step wiring, too scared to rip car apart to find out it won't work, and especially loose flawless bluetooth/MFD functionality with my RNS-315. I honestly just want RNS-510 for more featured nav features, and the Sirius Travel link on the newer models of RNS-510. Newer "E" "G" models are supposed to have dual processor, supposedly faster and more responsive.

I want to know if the next-gen nav system (In the upcoming Golf MK7) will fit...
