Just looking at parts for my BT build and I am going to put a new timing belt kit on the car also while the motor is out. I like the idea of the IE manual tensioner. It seems really simple and awesome. Does anyone have this kit that can vouch for it? Seems like a cool setup for $50 more than the regular kit. AND you get a gates racing belt for that price.

    Sounds like .

    Thanks for any help.

It gets rid of slack the hyd one doesn't. Put one on my car, works great.
the car is on an inclined driveway and up on jack stands in the front only

I love mine. Only thing I would do is take the little metal spacer for behind the idler roller and grind off like, 1/16th of an inch of it. I think most people know this by now (and maybe IE has fixed it?) but the idler roller as it comes kind of leaves the belt the tiniest bit off the end of the cam gear and what not. I didn't grind mine down, because I didn't really realize it until after...but my belt is still fine. Just something I thought I'd add just in case.

For the love of god if you do make sure its flat lol
I do coilover installs, retrofits, audio, fender rolling and other light maintenance in South Jersey. Eastwood fender roller for rent. PM me with questions

Does anyone have any info on that problem ^ being fixed?

However, I'm pretty sure my current OE replacement tensioner does the same thing.

well, just recently mine was running. and running good and fast. seeing speeds > 150 in low 10 seconds.... with rpms up in the 9600 range. i would say mine is qualified to be considered settled in place for where it lives and always is.

and this is where the belt is now and always is.

but dont mind modest me... haha. done nothin, doin nothin. spreading discontent like a mad dog, though!

    Sorry.

I actually did research it and didn't find anything. Just searched it again and found some answers. I guess I just didn't have my search dialed in.
