    1. 10-04-2012 02:32 AM #1
The cayenne V6 3.2 is the same engine like touareg and r32????

I know that the intake manifold is different, the alternator is watercooled(rare) and have 7 more Hp, but can be use for do a mk3 swap?? I can use the 02a transmission like with the touareg or r32???

      Thanks !

Yes internally is the same but be cautious if you are trying to simply replace the motor in your R32 or Toureg you may run into some issues with some of the external things being different like covers and mounting pieces. If you are replacing a 3.2 in another car you may have to strip it down the the bare long block and swap your stuff over.

Also I believe some of the longitudinally mounted 3.2's dont have the castings on the back of the block which you would need it mounting it in a mk2 or mk3 swap for example.

Accessories, I agree but manifolds all seem to work. I had a BAA code longblock w r32 manifolds, 24v accy bracket and 12v alt all in my mk3.

The only motor I know of with mounting issues is the aftermarket bdf code longblock for auto trans apps. That is missing a cast piece for one trans bolt.

Yea I know the accessories will swap over I meant don't buy a cayenne 3.2 as replacement for an R motor and expect to just put it in without swapping it all over.

I mentioned the mounting points because the owners wife had a 3.2 toureg and specifically took notice to that it didnt have the mount bosses in the back of the block where you would put a mk3 mount bracket. I assumed it was a longitudinal thing but maybe they aren't all like that.

How about the 3.2 head from the Tuareg and Cayenne? Any different than what's on the Mk4 R32? I'm about to buy a used Tuareg head for my R but I want to confirm a direct swap/match.

Never measured valve size but the ports are for sure the same as the r32.
