    ok.......so unforunately none of my friends have vdubs or want them so i find myself having this HUGE fascination with vw as we all do, nah mean!! So the real problem is i don't want to buy something that is going to be a piece of junk. I found a 92 jetta gli and it needs a head gasket replaced, my first question is.... Is 120k on a 16v bad? I've replaced a head gasket before but only on a pick up. Help a brotha out.....i'm looking for a nice jetta that i can work on.

    i had a 92 gli. i bought it at 135,000 miles and it died at 264,000 miles. and even then all it needed was an ignition module to run i just didn't want to put any money into it. head gasket is not too hard for anyone who has a little bit of mechanical know how. do the timing belt while you have the engine apart.
