I don't want a vta setup. Those are worthless.

and so is the stock pcv system

VTA is cheaper, cleaner for the engine, no can to empty over time... but hey, go with a can if thats what u want...

This is tempting - my CC fills up awfully quickly and I'm still finding an oily film in the intake system. How are the VTA fumes in the cabin?

I had a catch can set up on my ABA 16vt and it filled very quickly but mostly with water. Mounted it back by the turbo and the heat revapored (not a real word) back in to the system somewhere. Not worth the money/trouble.

On my my last 1.8t as my pcv system started to fail I took it all out and went VTA. Got to say I'm with big tom on this one.

i had a hose from my valve cover to the ground. car was daily driver and it never bother me. not even in bumper to bumper traffic. you will likely have a spot of oil on your driveway.

like there's probably not already a spot of oil in your driveway. I was thinking about going VTA since all of my SAI junk is failing. I've had the car for 9 years. I'm surprised it lasted this long.
Hose from valve cover? or just a K&N type off of it? Cheaper than some of these really pretty looking CC setups.

yea i like not having the can. i had one for a little while. ditched it pretty quickly. i rarely catch of whif of fumes. normally happens in drive thrus or creepin thru traaffic, but then again it could be exhaust i smell as well. it's really not a prob, especially if you are running a/c. i never use my a/c, i ride windows 99% of the time

you can run a hose to the ground from your valvecover, but i chose to put a breather filter on it.

    VTA FTW

Mine is rerouted into my intake and I'm going back to VTA. The only thing I noticed is with VTA there was no oil on the TIP. Doesn't matter what I do, I always smell burning oil, and always smell exhaust anyways

Tom, riding windows 99% Eff that! When I lived in Boca and Mia Gardens, I had my car set with the AC on and a remote so it would be cold before I got in (reverse of up north)...Screw that Fl. Heat. Good place for bikes though, no traffic, open roads in the 'glades.

I dump my crankcase to the ground right in the front of the bay and still use my catchcan for the VC. I notice a lot less oil after dumping the crankcase because I'm assuming thats where most of the oily mess came from.

I don't empty it nearly as often either as it's only catching vapor from the VC now. If I see the need to dump the VC too I will because I still get oil in my TIP. Can a bad hockey puck valve cause this or is just oil getting through...I just didn't feel like selling my catchcan since I already had it haha
I do coilover installs, retrofits, audio, fender rolling and other light maintenance in South Jersey. Eastwood fender roller for rent. PM me with questions

the hockey puck doesnt do anything... look inside of it lol. you are getting oil in your tip because you have a line hooked up to it. it's that simple... catchcan does not remove 100% of the oil and other contaminants.

you should never have to add oil to your car after adding a catch can. All a catch can does is catch the moisture vapors in the crankcase and store them to be disposed of later. Adding a catch can should, in theory, allow a longer oil change interval due to the oil not breaking down from moisture in it.

I want to delete my pcv system and suction jet pump system.

All of the oil (very little) I lose comes from my engine leaking in an unknown location that refuss to be fixed.

The only thing in the can is some watery liquid that smells a little like gas and death.

even with the leaky seal somewhere I don't lose enough between changes to merit adding any.

    hope that helps.

thats the byproduct of blowby and heat and moisture.

Its mainly fuel, since it does not lubricate cylinder walls very well.

i VTA on my TT 225. The hose goes just past the belly pan in front of the driver side front wheel.

It stinks in traffic with the windows open. it is annoying.

my left front control arm is also covered in oil....

im thinking of making a catch can that re-routes the gasses to the motor...

    that smell is annoying

Why do you need pics? It's simple...

Buy a 2 inlet can with a drain, leave drain open, run to ground

    or

Like Tom, just run a hose from the Vent under the manifold to the ground and a filter on the valve c0ver.

    OR

You could run the valve cover and the vent under the mani in a Y and run them both to ground right next to the oil filter.

    Easy
