Thread: how to unlock steering column with a key

  1. 10-04-2012 10:47 AM #1
so i was going to move one of my parts corrados and i realized ive lost the key. now i can start it fine by poping off the ignition switch and direct wiring it... but i cant figure out how to get the steering solumn unlocked. is my only choice to remove the whole assembly?

i tried the search but for some reason its not working on my phone. if there is a link i cat find that you know of, can you toss it my way?

    thanks guys.

pop the ign lock cylinder out. There's a tab inside to unlock the steering column.
    Did this today....

My ign cyl had been out before (prev owner? bad ign switch?) so the hole to release the lock cyl was already there. If yours doesn't have the hole, check your bentley. You drill the hole so you can reach the tab so you can remove the lock cyl.
