I believe the magnaflow doesn't have a flapper... so yeah that wouldn't help if you wanted it to be quiet.

OP had the APR TBE and sold it, guess it was too quiet for him.

I am not a fan of the Magnaflow either way.

when 42 was developing the downpipe, they were also going to do a catback. Since they usually use magnaflow mufflers on their exhaust systems they mated one up and said it was shaking their shop when the car was fired up. they decided not to use it and are looking for another solution before they release their catback. so yes it would be quite loud

    True that.

I would like to rephrase my last statement though... It wouldn't be loud, just a lot of unneeded drone when cruising due to the loss of a flapper.

I had a magnaflow muffler on my GLI. It wasn't louder than the stock muffler, but it did create more drone.

Do you mean "isn't quiet" at low RPM or "isn't quiet" at WOT? The APR is quiet when driving normally and loud as balls at WOT. That's the best of both worlds.

If you want it to be loud all the time, get a Milltek. I've heard there isn't much drone on that system but it's VERY loud.

I'm sorry, not the Milltek. I haven't heard the Milltek, I got confused I guess. The Scorpion is the one I was thinking of. It's very loud.
