    G35s are rustbuckets anyways
No, if you choose to drive a W8 over any other car that is superior with facts to prove it, THEN you are a fanboy.

And a G35 is hardly a rustbucket when they last 300k+ miles without problems, would love to see a W8 do that.

I like the Passat W8. Saw one once in a parking lot, took a picture. But, I am a fanboi, so ...

So where is this G35 wagon with AWD?

There are any number of reasons someone might be driving an 8+ year old Passat. Maybe they were given it by a family member. Maybe they bought it from someone on craigslist. Maybe they got it from a used car lot.

In 2012, no one outside of VW forums cares that it's rare or was once top of its line. It's a VW family sedan with a big engine, not a priceless work of art.

Read what he said again, fool. If you're going to try and ridicule what he said at least understand what he wrote first.

Dang ! Alot of have for the W8 in here! I've driven a W8 and can honestly say it is a freaking amazing car! To me a german 8 cylinder wagon with all wheel drive and a manual tranny is an amazing car hands down! Sure its not one of the most awesome cars ever built, but still I dont see how any car enthusiast could drive around in one and pound on the W8 manual and walk away with no more than a ''meh'' on his face, unless he was biased against VW's in the first place...

Oh, insults from a VW fanboi because I'm not impressed by an 8+ year old Passat. Gosh.

I think someone left the gate to the MKIV forum open again.

I've seen these around here for sure...I remember seeing the W8 badge, but I had no clue what it was until now.

“I’m in the coffee place with the young people, and I’m standing in the doorway just fantasizing about walking around and just hitting their cups to floor, and I see this guy, he’s like 20 years old, and he has the Awesome Possum shirt, just like mine. So I went, ‘Hey, nice shirt!’ and he went like this, “Pfffff,” and he walked away like I’m a piece of ****! And I stood there and I was so mad, I’m just like, **** him, man! We have the same shirt! It’s an unusual shirt! It’s perfectly appropriate to ****ing do this ****! Why does he have to make me feel like an old *** just because I wanna make a connection with another human being? Is his generation just too cool and ironic and, ‘Ooh, that’s lame, older guy, ewww,’ ****ing young ****, I hope he dies. That’s how mad I was. And as I’m standing there, in that anger, I look down and I realize I’m not wearing the shirt.”

I drive my daily through automated car washes.. I leave coffee cups in it and don't care if I meet another one on the road. My next daily is hopefully a E38 7series, I'll treat it the same way.. One of my cars has not had an oil change for atleast 25k miles (1.8T swap here I come ). Does this make me less of a car enthusiast, or a worse person? OMG I must suck in life..

most of these women you see drive around in cars that you would think only enthusiasts would drive prob have husbands/boyfreinds that talked them into buying that car so they have 2 cool cars they can drive. Ask me how i know?

That's what I think when I see a woman driving an E39 M5, or an S2K, or something cool that only comes in manual.

It used to rustle my jimmies when I was younger...now I think a bit more about it. My wife will be one of those women someday.

Well intentioned thread, totally derailed. I love cars. Period. I will give thumbs up to just about any car that I think is pretty damn cool, whether it be Mustangs, old Jags, old Turbo Volvo wagons, etc. I'm sure the other drivers appreciate my like of their car as well, plain and simple. Dunno why so many folks in this thread act like someone peed in their Cheerios....relax, people!

Aside for recent cam shaft chain tensioner issues, the W8 that my parents bought new, and I took off their hands* (*no, I'm not crazy), has been a total blast to own. Yes, it sucks gas more than an ocean liner (~17 mpgs in mixed driving), but other than that, the ownership experience has been fantastic.
