I have a 01 2.8 and I found oil in spark plug wells 1, 2, and 3. I did the valve cover gasket earlier this and I have a brand new breather hose since my old one broke. I am also loosing a good amount of oil every month. Any ideas?

if you mean 1,2, and 3 on the same side, you are either referring to cylinders 1,3,and 5 or 2,4, and 6. if it was all on one valve cover and they still leak, then you didnt do them right.

Yes, that is what I meant and would there be any other reason why this would be happening besides the vavle cover gasket. I just was to rule everything else out before buying a new gasket kit.

well the only reason there would be oil in the plug wells would be that the well gaskets failed. determining if that it your only source of oil leak is another story.

On the 2.8 30v the cylinders are numbered like this.

    3 6
    2 5
    1 4
    -------
    FRONT

    Firing order should be 1-4-3-6-2-5.

So your passenger side bank or bank #1 is leaking.

    Are all the nuts tight?

i did my valve cover gaskets myself also...no matter how careful you are.....you have to run your finger along the outside of the valve cover to make sure your seals are sitting properly....it is extremely easy pinch around the outside....your true problem lies with the inner gasket though...that is the one that allows leaks into the spark plugs. Did you replace those as well? they usually come with the gasket kit. Did you line the contact surface with a thin layer of that adhesive type paste? forgot what its called...hehe

    hope this helps!

I did but I guess I wasn't careful enough haha. I plan on ordering a new gasket and doing it again. I'm pretty sure it is the inner one though because I haven't found any leaks around the outside, just in the wells.
