The 'tangs' are where the brake calipers fit.
Just can't tell if its from a cabby or cabrio/jetta.

you mean you guys couldnt tell it was a steering knuckle, aka spindle?
it doesnt look like a mk1, probally a mk3 or other cabrio model...
