      can anyone tell me the real name and the part number for both right and left side of this

      you mean you guys couldnt tell it was a steering knuckle, aka spindle?

      it doesnt look like a mk1, probally a mk3 or other cabrio model...

      I've never had to touch mine, so...

      It's a tad different.

      The Mk1 version, FWIW, is now NLA.

      Nope, I had misjudged the size, I thought it was something that was about 5" tall. From Kams picture it was obvious.

      sorry, mk1 (1992 cabriolet) spindles look like this


      and are the same for all mk1





      these are also mine


      so your spindles if you got them from a 92 cabriolet, are not the stock spindles/steering knuckles.
