I bought this kit months ago, finally installed it a few weeks ago. Ran the wires and installed as the instructions said:

Ran into the first problem, ECS pinned the reverse signal connector wrong . Easy fix just switch the 2 wires in the connector and fixed

Coded the RNS-510 for the reverse camera and success!

Camera opened when reverse was engaged and got a picture

The next day, I give it another test before reinstalling the trim...no picture . Camera opens, RNS shows the reverse screen but no image. I check all connections, recode and reset the RNS, still nothing. Gotta be a bad coaxial, ordered a new one, same problem .

Contacted ECS and told them about the problem. They won't send me a new camera badge because I modified the harness? . So because I fixed the mistake in their own harness, I somehow messed up the camera by making it work correctly? Oh but they did send me a new harness with the same problem as the original . Anyone here with this kit having the same problem?

    Loose or pinched cable?
    Try recoding it again?

So it is not the unit as we now come to find out, since we sent a new one out - please recheck wiring, fuses, grounds, ect with the install. If you are still having issues after this please check with your local auto shop for more help.

i had this issue with an aftermarket headunit in my old car. when i first installed it the screen worked great but the 2nd day i tried to watch a movie and nothing. the screen came up and i could even hear the sounds of the dvd main screen going through the speakers, but no actual picture. i always assumed it was a blown fuse or something like that but i never actually got it fixed. i'd definitely check wiring/fuses first with relation to the headunit.

have you done anything to it to prevent battery drain?
I changed my oil with diluted KY Jelly and I really like it. Drove it 3 miles no problem yet. Highly recommend it.

Been checking the wiring. Looks good. Checked it with a voltage meter, power is good. Camera opens, closes. RNS screen changes to reverse...just no picture.
