    Hi all,
am looking to replace the textured plastics that surround the entire bottom of the car and paint them to match the body colour. Looked into having a body shop refinish the plastics and paint/clear coat but it was almost $3k. Madness.
Just wondering if anyone else has considered this, and if so, where can aftermarket plastics be purchased and is there perhaps a body kit out there to replace the OEM.
    Thanks!

I work in a body shop and i was going paint mine but it was to much work taking off the lower moldings but It doesn't cost $3k, it might cost around $1500-$2000. Did you ask them were they going to take off the bumpers and everything else?

Why don't you go to different body shops and ask how much would it cost to paint all the lower moldings and make sure go to a decent body shop, it will make a difference.

have you consider your grill redo like mine!!
This is what I did, I painted the inner frame flat black with the mesh and the outer frame
    gloss black with blue pearls.

I actually like that a lot! I just wouldn't know where to start. What is you remove to install the mesh? How did you float the emblem so nicely!

1st its up to you to use your own grill or get another like used or damage.
    Then disassemble the whole grill.

The emblem is held with bolts which I glue with universal autobody glue.

And the diamond mesh if you can get a hold of it you need 48x12 sheet that's just enough to cut it and shape it.

Ya, they said the majority of the work would be put into removing the texture on the plastic moldings... Apparently that's the biggest deal. The sealing painting and clear coating wasn't a big concern for them.

I might purchase a used grille and play with it. It's really the side skirt moldings that I want replaced in matching body color. That's would be ideal.

The lower 4 doors really are my biggest concern, that would be great! Where can they be purchased?

ABT has a factory replacement that gets painted, they are not cheap though.
