    Thread: Drivers CV busted, advice needed.

      The boot ripped a year ago and slung grease everywhere, I bought a CV boot to replace it with, but since I was toying with the idea of going BT I decided to hold off on it in lieu of getting a beefy axle. There is no popping or crunching like I was expecting to hear by now.

      My questions are, with the CV running with no grease for a year, how much longer before it fails?

      Is it safe to run a ~350hp BT setup on this?

      Should I replace the axle before going BT?

      With all the water, dirt, and debris in there, I'm actually surprised that it hasn't broken yet. I would definitely replace it before you go big turbo. I have a feeling as soon as that torque curve hit, that CV would shatter.

      If not I've read raxles is a good way to go.
