TCL I want to know why you love cars since you obviously love them enough to join a car forum.

I love cars for a few reasons:

1: if im stressed or down or whatever nothing brings me out of it more than when i go for a drive
2.) I'm inspired by how cars can change the way we view the world
3.) cars are an expression of who you are
4.) I love the adrenaline rush that comes with speed

so... TCL what made you love cars

Hmm, I've actually thought about this before, and I've come up with a delightfully snobby, superior conclusion. We all know that there are people who spend their free time listening to and making music and that there are people who do the same with art. These types of hobbies appeal to a specific sense; art is visually stimulating and music is an auditory delight. Then there are people who like woodworking and building/improving things.

Cars, rather than honing in on just one of these aspects, involves almost all of them (except cooking. I still haven't figured out how to work that one in.) There is so much you can do in the automotive world. Obviously, engine note is an important aspect in any enthusiast's mind, so that takes care of the auditory thrill. And just look at all the fuss E-Type Jags and Citroen DSs bring. Obviously people obsess over the visually appealing aspects of automobiles. Obviously cars are also machines that can be operated, tinkered with, modified, and improved. That's important to a bunch of people too.

Maybe you like raw POWWA! Then muscle cars/ drag racing stuff will be just perfect. Have an appreciation for the finer things in life? Nothing scratches that itch like a wafting power delivery, smooth ride, and strokable, hand build interior.

My point is, cars involve a very broad, all encompassing field of interests.

I have never given this too much thought...

For me, I think it is simply a genetic disposition. Grew up around old collector cars, and my folks always having something new in the stable. At an early age I fell in love with the thrill of speed throwing you back against the seat, the noise penetrating the ear drums, and the wind blowing against you at high speeds. I think for a lot of people this is just an inherent thing..."guys like cars"...type of deal.

Whether, it is a loud, beastly, old muscle car, a refined and luxurious exotic, or just a little old 4 cyl that you can wind up like a top, I love the extension and expression that cars bring to a person.

Car = Freedom. I've made this connection ever since I could drive. If I have a car, I can go anywhere.

From there, it's all about aesthetics and the driving experience. The icing on the cake if you will.

i love cars for the same reasons i love women.

i ride in them a few times a day
i could swap them, but sometimes at a cost.
they make some sweet ass noises
sometimes your friends let you ride in theirs
    they come in varying colors...

I don't discriminate. I love anything with an engine.

Except maybe motorcycles....not really into them.

I think it was innate... over the years, ever since I was in my single-digits, I have always loved cars and everything about them. Growing up has just made me realize that this is who I am and what I love doing... for better and for worse. Now, I am trying to find an Engineering position in the industry...

I like engine noises. The smell of gasoline. Mechanical things. Cruising down backroads and enjoying the scenery. Being able to point at something and say "I did that myself". Some feelings are just intangible.

I like cars because I like cars.

i cant blame you. you are not really INTO a motorcycle. you kinda get ONTO a motorcycyle to ride it.

I think it is an ego thing, I love being in control. The noises, smells, and views are just added benefits.

A good engine is an absolute engineering masterpiece.
Hundreds of individual pieces working in harmony to convert an exothermic chemical reaction into a noise that sends chills down your spine.

If that ain't cool, I don't know what is

Nahh, you can always cook the tires.

For me, it's a combination of freedom and fun. I enjoy the fact that a car can be more than the sum of its parts. I enjoy the ingenuity and talent that goes into designing and building cars. I like that a combination of fuel, air and spark can light up my senses and adrenaline.

I like that I can sit in a metal box strapped to a thin seat, 3-4 feet behind a series of controlled explosions which propel me down a road at a rate that was unimaginable 100 years ago, with reliability that was nonexistent 60 years ago, with performance equal to a supercar of 30 years ago. Not naysaying older cars, they're awesome too, just how engineering and design progresses to make the awesome more achievable over time. I love cars, and how much fun they are.

i don't, they are the cause of more accidents. its like putting a weapon to every retards hand. freedom?, there's public transport for that. i think drivers for the most part are selfish.
cars are pollute, destroyed/destroying and will destroy the environment.

they are expensive, over priced. every MK4 you see comes with the same bags and BBS RS. nothing original. boring. i could go on and on, but i'll cap it at that

    cars sucks.

Because i hate money in my pocket it seams to burn up all my jeans so instead of buying new jeans i throw it at cars.
I think for me its because i grow up in germany and was around racing and cool cars a lot and just idolized them...
