      PhatNoise - complete kit includes:

PhatNoise unit, 20Gb DMS cartridge, Audi lead (to plug PhatNoise into the CD changer cable in the boot), USB cradle, Power supply, Instruction manual and PhatNoise Music Manager CD.

All in excellent condition, I bought this as a hardly used machine many years ago and never got round to fitting it.

The system is designed to work with all cars equipped with the Concert, Concert II, Symphony, Symphony II and will work with RSN-E head units, generally covering model years from 1998 onward.

As on mobile rather a lot best way to contact me is via a PM and please as this is a for sale thread only post a reply if you are interested in buying these please.

Asking for £160 + UK postage probably £10ish.

Just in case anyone not come across these before a PhatNoise or sometimes referred to as a Phatbox is a music player that seamlessly integrates with the head unit. Back in the day this could be a Dealer fit accessory.

The player itself mimics the 6 disc changer and uses the same CD changer protocols to talk with the head unit. As far as the head unit knows this is just your standard 6 disc CD changer.

The system is designed to work with all cars equipped with the Concert, Concert II, Symphony or Symphony II head units, generally covering model years from 1998 onward.

The system has four major components:

      1. Windows-based PhatNoise Music Manager Software for digitizing your CD collection, organising playlists, and managing music on the desktop.

      2. A DMS cartridge which holds a 2.5" 20 gigabyte hard drive, making it possible to carry the music between PC and car. The 20 gigabyte storage capacity is the approximate equivalent to 7,000 songs compressed at 128kbits/s MP3. It is also possible to update the hard drive with a higher capacity unit should you need more than 7,000 songs, this could be replaced with 40, 60 or 80 gigabyte drives.

      3. A USB 2.0 cradle for music transfer to the DMS Cartridge from the PC. Music transfer on the system is very quick with a transfer rate up to 480 Mbits/sec.

      4. The Phatbox, a trunk-mountable, in-car player that allows the DMC Cartridge to seamlessly interfaces directly to the Audi car audio system for playback.
