Convenience is a necessity.
I had a **** Brown Jetta 2.5 Auto w/o Convenience as a loaner while my GLI was getting (or supposed to be getting) the rattles fixed.
That was one ****ing boring car to drive...

Finding a Jetta non gli and non tdi in stick is apparently very difficult, atleast when you narrow the search to 2 colors, and 1 of two packages. Anyone have any recomendations for which package I should aim for? is the convenience package worth it?

while I cant argue that its not a boring car to drive, especially going from a heavily modded MKIV GTI and more recently a WRX I need something that takes regular gas and is safe to drive (kids while most likely be in my near future)

Definately get the convenience. If its not an issue of you being able to afford it, it is well worth the money.

I got a 13 SE w/ convenience because I need heated seats after back surgery and I hate hubcaps (even though stock 16s aren't great). The package is definitely worth the few hundred bucks.

Thanks, I am just waiting for confirmation that they actually found the car at this point. I have them searching for the SE with and without the convenience package. I think they found one in blue with convenience but need to confirm the other dealership is willing to trade the vehicle. (worst case I will find that dealership and buy it direct through them lol)

with convenience. bluetooth, heated seats, leather wrapped steering wheel.

on the convenience.... leather wrapped steering wheel makes driving so much better

The alloy wheels look AWESOME on the convenience, way better than the normal plastic hubcaps.

Ever try a diesel? My wife loves her TDi (Golf). I'm sure that engine in a Jetta would make a great family car. She is getting around 34 to 36 mpg in town.
