Love it, if I was ever in the market for a FWD, midsize, family sedan, (don't really see that happening) this would be the one I would get. The Altima and the Accord would be 2nd and 3rd respectively.

That's a 337-pound weight loss over the current Mazda6 with the automatic, otherwise known as "having your cake." When it comes time to eat it, you'll be happy to know that torsional rigidity has been upped by more than 30 percent.

Yes, I am bias towards Mazda, but I can't for the life of me understand hate towards any car when that person hasn't driven it yet.

How about this much newer one.
Some here are arguing about style.
The Mazda6 is a much more daring style than the conservative even by VW standards Passat.
If that scares you- then fine.
If you like extremely conservative styling- then fine.
But let's stop the silliness.
And if you do like extremely conservative styling, then how about liking the conservative styling by brands other than VW? Or maybe just admit to being a hypocritical fanboy and then be quiet.

The new 6 looks fantastic to my eyes, and I actually find it appealing that they haven't (yet) overloaded it with touch-screens and fancy interfaces for every single feature - and I'm squarely in the age bracket that you think would want all that stuff. Give me a solid Bluetooth interface to sync up with my phone, and I'll be fine. It will be at the top of my shopping list in 2-3 years when I'm looking to trade up to a midsizer![]()

Way to compare a stripper $20k Sonata GLS w/ wheel covers to a CC R-Line which will likely start at around $35k.And don't even try to say the CC was original. It simply was the first to copy the 4 door coupe styling trend. You have no soapbox to stand on.
For the price of the CC you could trick out a Sonata and still have money to spare.

You VW fanboys are a loyal bunch, I'll give you that much. VW could produce an utter POS and you'd still find a way to defend it.
Those foglights and lower grill look like sh*t, BTW. But hey, at least it's pricey and bound to be plagued with problems down the road like nearly every other VW. It's all about looking on the bright side.![]()

Actually, I think that 2 cars that have aged remarkably well are the first generation Mazda 6 and 3. Still look great to me; much better than the current generation. I think that the new 6 looks fantastic. It'll be interesting to see how good it looks down the road.
And I like the new Passat. Yes, conservative, but that doesn't have to mean boring (although the interior could use a bit more personality, but I don't mean the spaceship look that so many cars have these days). It has a very muscular look. And I've been seeing them all over the place lately. I would call the Jetta boring conservative though.

The 6 and the Fusion look horrible IMO. The Passat is ok but not great.
