Sent to ECSTuning without a response (or went to Spam and I missed it)

I was searching through your site and see that you offer a few switches for the '13 GLI and had some very simple questions.

ES#9974 = simply adds the ability to have on the parking lights and fogs? Would this leave the LED's on with the fog's as well?

ES#2535660 and ES#9970 = same switch, different "Home" Insignia (script v. graphic). Would this need to be enabled to work on my car? Exactly how does it work? Which lights come one?

Would like to pick up the correct switch for my car and ensure that I have the functionality that I want. I don't really need the light sensing system that I have witnessed on the web, but having the lights come on upon entry/stay on after leaving intrigues me.

    *******

Does the "Home" thing need to be switched on within the system?
Do the DRL's stay on with the parking lights (or do they double as the parking lights)?

    Any help is appreciated.

You will not need the coming home switch unless your car came equipped with coming home lights feature. If so ES#:2535660 will be the correct switch for you.

ES#9974 is the correct switch you will need for non coming home and both will leave the LED's on with fogs and parking lights as you wanted.

Be sure to check out ross-tech for all the Vag-Com options. PM me with any other questions, I would be glad to help!

We should start a thread just for this information on the 2013 w/ Nav and the Euro Switch functionality with the DRL LEDs.

I am no expert with a VW (yet), but I have installed the Euro Switch and it works as I would expect at the moment.

Unit I purchased: via thread http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...ht=euro+switch

Default behavior after installing the Euro Switch for 2013 GLI w/ Nav:

    Off Position:
LEDs ON @ 100%, all other lights off.
    Auto Position:
LEDs ON @ 100%, all other lights off. OR (Relative to ambient light w/ aftermarket controller) HIDs ON, City Lights all ON, Fogs OFF and cannot be turned on.
    City Lights/ Running Light Position:
LEDs ON @ 50%, City lights all ON, Fogs can be turned ON or OFF.
    Full ON:
HIDs ON, LEDs ON @ 50%, City Lights all ON, Fogs can be turned ON or OFF.

    Items to note:
When the LEDs are at the 100% brightness and a turn signal is made active, that respective LED will turn off, as in 0%. This is much like the behavior of Audi’s LEDs DRLs. This is default behavior for stk or Euro switch.

    VAG-COM Coding (thus far):

LED Dimming: With coding the LEDs no longer turn off during turn signal activation and stay @100%. This contradicts the GTIs coding that allows the LEDs to dim to 50% during turn signal activation.

    CODE Link: http://golfmk6.com/forums/showpost.p...0&postcount=10

Coming Home (in the ‘Auto’ Position) – WORKING - The HIDs do not remain on and turn off with the vehicle. The City Lights ON with LEDs @ 50% and remain ON for the time value specified.

Leaving Home (in the ‘Auto’ Position) – NOT Working – Still tweaking the setting within VCDS

The add-on mentioned in the link (now removed) was for auto headlamps based on light conditions, where the "Home" option is a timer that is active when coming or leaving the car.

I think I would like that feature (parking lots, parking garages, etc.).

Thanks for the information. Very much appreciated.

Not sure if this is '13 or LED/BiXenon dependent:

Left the lights in the on position on purpose when I left my car tonight. beep beep beep

Walk away, hit the lock button, and the lights (LED, parking lights) turn off.
Come back, unlock with the fob, and the lights come back on (LED, parking lights).

That's the way it works on my '13 GLI with halogens before and after euro switch. It's so that your lights don't drain your battery I guess.

With regards to the Euro switch, is there coding so that the tailights come on with the LEDs? (as in parking lights?) Because right now, my LEDs come on once the car is started and the handbrake goes down, and turn off once the headlights turn on....thanx for the info

On my 2013, the LEDs are never off unless the car is not moving and hand break is engaged.

All other times the LED DRLs are either at 100% (when on by themselves) or at 50% (when other lights are on, i.e. running lights / headlights.
