Well, I'm finding out more and more as the weeks go by that I don't have the time to do the things I need to do to get my GLI running the way I want it to. I'm thinking now it might be best to sell, cut my losses and just get a daily. This was supposed to be a daily that I was going to build up, but 40 hour work weeks + 15 hours of classes + homework and study time is just too much for me to do what I want/need to do.
The car is black with recaro interior, everything is original save for the mid-90's sony head unit. Only the front two speakers are hooked up right now, but comes with 10 cd changer, all speakers as well as two additional boston 6x11 speakers in the back (think that's the size, don't quote me though, I am tired lol). It passed emissions and has an IM sticker through 10/2013. Car has 139xxx original miles on it. Along with the car I'll also include a full thule bike rack, complete with keys. The keys I don't actually have yet, waiting for them to come in the mail (does not come with fairing). I'll also include a new Sony xplod GT57UPW head unit that has built in iphone/android support, USB and aux jacks as well as pandora support if I get my asking price.
Recent repairs include new distributor, rotor, cap, seal for distributor and voltage regulator. Body wise, it is very straight with no rust, save for some surface on the fender where the plastic fender where the flair would sit on the right front side. That flair is currently off the car, though I do have it and a second set of trim pieces, as well as some body clips. I'll just run down good and bad now and then post the pics, they do most of the talking.

all electronics function as they should, in fact everything functions normally except for the sunroof which needs a new crank motor (that's what I call it anyway, it's the piece that screws into the roof). I bought one off of here before for about 5 bucks, so not a hard replacement.
The front motor mounts are shot.
The front right spring and strut are shot, strut is leaking
Needs new front and rear brake pads and rotors.
Needs a new knock sensor on the exhaust, the cable on it some how was cut, not really sure how but it sends a code and the CEL pops on as a result. Also causes a slight hesitation on acceleration as a result, though once you are through that it goes fine.
The paint by the headlights is chipped, looks like a lot of highway driving/rock chips were taken. The rest of the cars paint is in good condition but needs a proper detailing.
Headliner board is about too cracked up to replace. I have spray and new cloth with foam that I'll include with the car if someone wants to give it a shot, but after pulling all the interior parts I found it to be a lost cause.
To pass inspection you'd need to do the brakes at minimum. The pads have barely anything left.
If you have the time and the tools the fixes aren't too hard at all, and it's worth it. The 16v on this thing is fantastic and pulls strong. The body also has a lot of potential. I'm hoping to get $1200 for it as is, or best reasonable offer, or else I'll keep it and hope to do repairs on winter break. While I need a DD, I also do have a certain attachment to this car, despite only owning it for a couple of months.
