Extremely rare AMG version of the popular W126 series. This 500 SE claims to be the first car built by the MB tuning specialist. The engine is tuned up to 340 hp, which means a surplus of 100 hp compared with the works cars! Additional options are contemporary Recaro sport seats with a variety of adjustment options, the AMG leather steering wheel, a sports suspension and -exhaust system, air condition, walnut wood, a top stereo system including cd changer of that time and genuine Fuchs wheels. All chrome and stainless steel parts are painted in car body color by AMG. The car comes with all invoices and original documents out of a Mercedes-Benz collection.

I strongly doubt the AMG version got 340hp. It`s the regular 16v m117 from what the picture show.

Not necessarily, AMG made SOHC M117 5-6L Engines before/along side of their more problematic 32v brethren.

Wow, that 500 SE is gorgeous! I expected to see a car that looked like an AMG but it doesn't. It's a little bit of a sleeper.

I have an '82 Euro import 500 SE AMG but it looks a little more aggressive than the one in the ad! It has the M117 16v V8 and from what I gather it makes anywhere from 260hp to 300. It has no problems in the power department, I want more, but it doesn't need more. I also don't have pretty seats

they're asking a lot for them. I love the steering wheel on the 500SEL and the velour interior on both of them. Someone has to post these links on benz world for the 126 guys.

The strongest 2v 5 liter made 276. The strongest 2v overal,the 6liter made 331,so i`m pretty sure.

5.0 4v - 340hp.
5,6 4v - 360hp.
6.0 4v - 385hp.

They are both quite special in their own way. In the end, you actually have to decide between a blue or a green interior!
