I received an oil and coolant line kit, everything's a go for fitting (a certain way) & wanted to verify the proper restrictor size for a BB GT2871r being a 0.065mm.

Also, everything fits properly considering the oil pin (restrictor) is facing up (in the air) on the turbo, as there's different thread pitches I can't flip it around to face down. This is the first time I've seen the oil pin on top, as opposed to being downward, screwed into the turbo.

Yes .035 and it doesn't matter, as far as hole still restricting either way.

.065" is for journal bearing garretts... use the size .035" as others have stated

Fantastic, good thing I caught this.

Kinda frustrated as the kit supplier says they'd ship me a .04..that should be fine or only! a .035

Make sure you know the measurements you are talking about.
In the first post, you said it was 0.065mm, then all the guys started talking in inch.

So, make sure you know first if you got your story straight
0.7mm for BB, 1.6mm for journal
0.030" for BB, 0.065" for journal

    Thanks...would that .005 make a difference going from .035 to .040?

Flipping people, sold me a kit supposed for a ball bearing yet gave me a journal kit...and only have the .04 to send.

That, I'm not sure, so I'll not say if it's ok to use or not. Maybe some one used to work with them might chime in

well according to Garrett's turbo FAQ, a minimum of .040" is needed for the DBB turbos. They they go on to say it varies from car to car. You could try the .040", but just be warned you are on the very edge of acceptable. You can read about it here...
