Props to Arin for the idea, as I know he's done it in a few other sub-forums. Since no one has made an official 1/4 mile times thread here yet, I am starting one. I will be updating frequently with as much information as possible. I found a few confirmed times from some users already (feel free to let me know of any missing/incorrect info). Please feel free to post your 1/4 mile times, videos, slips, and all the information needed about your car (mods, tune, fuel, turbo, transmission, tires, etc.. so I can post accordingly!
This thread will also be great for discussing anything drag strip, 1/4 mile, track related, as far as preparation, driving, techniques, tips, or anything else!

good idea! I'm going to add in next to tune a spot for stage 1,2,3 etc..and then at the bottom of the graph i will list the user's names with their mods. Unfortunately I saved the graph at work, so I'll have to do it Monday when I get back!!!
okay, cool! i will add it to the graph! where do you live that they have 92? never seen it around here..

I go to a Philips gas station in Wentzville mo, as far as i know it the only one around that has 92. Ever other Philips where i live either has 91 or 93. I would say that 80% of the gas stations in my area have 93. Personally between 92 and 93 octane its going to make a big difference on a stock tune.

I'd like to see people try to take into account the local weather and do some DA corrections.
A calculator that can be used to estimate the corrections can be found at: http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php. This one keeps track of the weather for that location if your strip is in the database and offers the data for your calculations.
The times can change drastically due to atmospheric conditions. Some people run in perfect weather, and get really good times. Others in different climates will run differently. Running the calculations may offer some insight into how you actually ran compared to others on this board. Of course, for something better than estimates, you can get a portable DA meter and get your exact numbers.
An example, using the calculations, mattng06, if he ran at Benton, ran as close to ideal as one can get. However, others may run in 92°F temps and get much worse times. It makes no sense to beat yourself up over times if you're disadvantaged based on your geographic location.
Thoughts?

Thanks for adding me to your chart above!
My slip:
Bone stock. 700 miles. 6spd manual. 93 Octane. If I remember DA was around 1700.

Excellent idea!!! I like that. That can give us more to compare to. Times can vary a good bit depending on track condition, weather, humidity, elevation, etc..thanks for the link. I have added a secontion to the graph above for track and weather information. Check it out and let me know what you think. cheers!
You're welcome, and thank you!!Let me know if you have the rest of the info and I will calculate it for you.

i know you displayed some initial frustration with your car, and fwd and all that after your first little trek to the strip.
anyways, getting a 25 mph trap increase over stock is ****ing phenomenal man. i hope you're happy with the car.

I was kind of frustrated, but thena gain, FWD. It's all a learning curve and new experience, so it's all fun and games for me. Thanks buddy. I'm definitely very happy with the car. I can't wait to get everything back together and take it back to the track!
By the way you guys, I will UPDATE all the info you guys have given me as soon as I get into work later today in the PM. Thanks!! Let's keep this thread going! It's great to see other owners going out to the track and having fun!

that's what's up! get out to that track and test it out now!!! keep us updated.
I went out to the track Sunday...I was ready to run, and then they cancelled the event due to rain...fml.
She was sure looking pretty tough.
it gets kind of annoying not having a 93 tune, specially for daily driving..having to fill up with 109 all the time..ugh..i wish every gas station sold race fuel, that would be amazing.

i could run w/m and more than likely get away with it, but this is just a safer and truer method..even though it's a hassle, w/m is even more of a hassle. if it's not dialed in perfectly, perfectly, it's not going to help at all, and can actually be a negative...i've seen a lot of guys running w/m that just plug everything in and think they're good to go, but have no idea exactly what it's doing..
i thought about w/m, and might still do it in the future, but it's just too much of a headache for now..it has to be tuned different for 93 and race fuel, and you always have to be adjusting it, not too mention making sure you always have that w/m tank full. It's definitely a great mod and worth it, just not for me at the moment.
I was thinking of maybe doing that when we can get a custom intake manifold made for our cars!! thennnnnnn yes!![]()
