We will now be offering FFE Racing delrin motor mount inserts for VF mounts.

We originally built these bushings out of aluminum for our own in house race cars and made a couple of extra sets to make it worth the time to set them up. Now with the aluminums mounts success we decided to make another replacement bushing set of delrin.

Delrins characteristics are a good inbetween from the original poly mount and our solid aluminum race mounts.

These bushings are a direct fit for mk4, mk5 and mk6 mounts and replace the upper and lower bushings in the mount while retaining the rest of the mount body/structure.

Due to the machining inconsistencies from original manufacturing from vf engineering some of the bodies vary +/-.015" or more in center dowel size you may have to slightly sand down the original vf piece or it might have a tiny bit of play in it until the mount is completely assembled. We have not experienced a scenario where we had to modify the vf base, but this is a warning if it does come up with a customer.

This is not something that we can control because the original mount manufacturer did not have to hold the part to a tight tolerance since a rubber/polyurethane can stretch/squish into an inconsistent part and still do its job.

We have built these mounts based off of brand new and used motor mount measurements to provide the most consistent bushing so you will be able to drop them in without issue.

These are much more practical for a street car than the aluminum ones, which are more for race / street race oriented vehicles. These bushings will be more stiff than the poly bushings, but still give a little and be more suited for uses other than (but still perfectly capable for) racing.

Price is per side, you will need to place and order for a quantity of 2 for a complete mk4/5/6 and you will receive 4 bushings, 2 for each mount.

These will be priced at $75 per side plus shipping.

To place an order please message me your full name, shipping address and phone number.

    Thanks,
    JC

Have them in my R36. Motor certainly doesn't move at all now.

Great! I made a comprehensive engine/transmission mount thread in the MkV forum and adding this info to that would be great.

how much more harsh are these compared to VF version? I'm almost ready for some new bushings, my VF's are bulging a bit.

I personally don't feel they are much more harsh than the poly, totally worth the trade off if you drive the car hard.
Hopefully some others will chime in with non biased opinions.

For those of you with worn VF mounts:

Don't forget to inspect the small bushings in the pendulum mount area. They're easy to overlook, and I was startled at the "feel" improvement from renewing them.

I had the HPA puck in there from last Xmas, and I finally renewed the pendulum mount bushings about six months later. Very noticeable improvement.

Last question, sir. There is a black pair and a white pair shown. Is there a difference between the two?

customer sent in some pics of his motor mounts. The VF aluminum was painted wrinkle black and the inserts started life white before being dyed purple to match the engine bay of his 10 second GTI.

How long did it take for this to happen? Are you boosted? What were you running for the other two mounts in combination with the VF Dogbone?

We have been tied up with a few other projects, we will finish them as soon as we can.

With that said if you have delrin inserts on the top it will 99 times out off 100 stop this from happening. I had the same issue before delrin uppers and I was changing them faster than I could get them from VF, since I replaced the delrin uppers I have not had this problem once.

This would happen in a month or two after installation. I'm N/A. I was running VFs all around with an HPA puck. I tore two sets up years ago an have since been running the stock lower.

With that said if you have delrin inserts on the top it will 99 times out off 100 stop this from happening. I had the same issue before delrin uppers and I was changing them faster than I could get them from VF, since I replaced the delrin uppers I have not had this problem once.
Thanks for the update. It'll be the next mod to the ride for sure.

I never tried the VF lower with my delrin inserts up top. I refuse to give VF anymore money for a crap product.
    insert cheap credibility statement here...
