So I capped the port on the side of the head, went to an no overflow rad and got rid of the crack pipe.

Looking to still run a heater of some sort and was wondering if anyone's ever used one of these freeze plug ports for a coolant feed. And wondering where else I could put a return.

Anyone have any ideas for a clean hidden routing of heater core lines?

so youre saying only the people running a non-overflow radiator are sober?

Lets not turn this into a rust argument.

This thread had nothing to do with that.

Make sure you bleed the air out of the head from that port you closed on the side. It will get airbound!

You could run some type of electric heater. I would check summit racing.

However, if you were dead set on using a freeze plug as coolant supply, I think it could work. The only thing is you would have to tap into the upper radiator hose as a return flow for the heater core, thus cluttering up the clean engine bay idea. Plus, you would have to run some type of valve inline with the feed line to regulate flow to the core. Otherwise, the heat would be on all the time.

If anyone sees a problem with my logic, feel free to chime in. Hope this helps.

It got a bit chilly here last winter without heat, and it fogs up pretty bad when it rains. I've got to come up with something for this winter too- I'll let you know if I brainstorm anything interesting.
If you make something idiot proof, a better idiot will come along.
