Ok, so a 7.1/10 on IMDB can't be that bad, right? I decided to give this one a go...and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. No, it's not a deep thinking movie nor are there tons of twists and turns. It's basically a straight-forward, park-your-brain-and-the-door, hang on for the ride type of film and the pacing is fast, light and fun.

Has anyone else seen this movie?

Your image isn't showing for me, but this is the Mel Gibson direct-to-video actioner, right? I haven't seen it yet, but some friends have and said it was pretty good. I liked "Payback" despite Mel's butchering of the film, so I'm told I'd like this.
A hundred dollars on your hair, fifty on your nails, fifty on make-up, two hundred dollars for an outfit. You ladies spend four hundred dollars to bring home a thug that ain't worth ten cents!

Yup, that's the one. It didn't get much publicity or marketing but everyone that saw it says it was surprisingly good.

Added it to my Netflix queue a few days ago but haven't had a chance to watch it. Glad you liked it...

It was pretty good, the whole twist with the name he was giving as if it were his name
and the scene at the house of his ex towards the end - that was pretty darn good

^ Yes, that was pretty sweet. All in all, it was just a plain 'ol joyride of a movie. There were scenes that were over-the-top non-believable but you don't care because it was filmed beautifully and the pacing is brisk and to-the-point while there was plenty of humour thrown in to boot.

It's like a Mel Gibson movie of old. Action and humour rolled in with a bit of ruthlessness. I enjoyed it a lot. 8/10 for me.

I rented it and it was pretty good!

    spoiler alert:

It was even better when Mel started speaking half-decent Spanish!
I could understand him pretty well, though I got lost at time when the movie
switched completely to Spanish (I can't keep up and the accent is different
than to what I am accustomed).
"None of you understand. I'm not locked up in here with you. You're locked up in here with me."

    (highlight below)

When he broke out in Spanish and stated,"Well, you never asked!" I literally laughed out loud. That was a great twist.

I just watched it. Very good movie.

BTW, El Peublito (Little Village) is a real prison in Tijuana. It's called La Mesa State Penitentiary and has about 5000 inmates. Here's a very good article about it and the 61 (at the time) "Gringos" living there.

That's exactly how I'd describe it too. It was a fun-to-watch action flick. Definitely worth a watch, IMHO, which is why I wanted to make a thread on it and let more people know!

I watched it first then came here to see if there was a forum where I could recommend it. Mel has offended pretty much everyone by now and I'm guessing that that's why it went direct to video. Very reminiscent of "Payback" except that the setting was a little more original. 8/10. (Sierra Celebration)
Classified forum rules require that you post a price. If you don't know what to ask, they suggest that you search past FS threads.

So, when your item sells, please don't edit out your price and description when you mark it "SOLD". Rather, edit to show selling price.

I agree. Mel's definitely in the "blacklist book" these days in Hollywood, otherwise this movie would've gotten some promotion on mainstream entertainment news. I've never even heard of this one until I stumbled upon it on IMDB.

I almost didn't finish watching it. The first time I got bored and switched to something else. It gets a lot better.
