Thread: 2012 Beetle winter tires

  1. 10-06-2012 03:53 PM #1
Okay, we have a new 2012 beetle, live here in Canada, and I see my rims will fit the beetle that I had from my 2007 Jetta 2.5L. The rims are 5X112mm bolt pattern and have a 57.1mm offset which is that the beetle has also.

Now my question is, the jetta snow tires are 205/55/16 and the beetles all seasons are 215/65/16

Will the 205/55/16 still work on the 2012 beetle, if so will there be a big difference in milage, also will there be enough wheel room in the wheel well and will anything rub or be too close?

    Thanks

I guess no one has any idea either.. Just asking on here to find out..
Would appreciate some input if any one can help me it, it is greatly appreciated.

I guess All I need to know is if the 12 and newer beetles can use a 16" winter tire - 205/55/16

The correct size is 215/60 16

    205/55 16 - When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 57.1mph (91.9km/h): 4.8% slower.

    215/65 16 - When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 62mph (99.8km/h): 3.3% faster.

I already bought a set of steelies and 215/60 16 WS70 snow tires for the upcoming winter. I'm anxious to see how well she does in the snow. I'm hoping she's at least as good as my old New Beetle was with snows.
