Excellent read Bill and I applaud your efforts to find the perfect set of spring for the MagneRide on our cars. I finally installed the TTRS springs and shocks (MagneRide of course) on my 3.2 Coupe this weekend to replace the stock MagneRide. This gave me about a 0.5" lower ride height but I don't know the change in spring rate.

One piece of information on your post I have a question about is why a stiffer rear rate will help keep hot tire psi lower? I am in the process of upgrading the linear 400lb front and progressive rear springs on my Z4MC KW Clubsports to 517lb linear ones all around this winter and was wondering what to expect before I try it on a track? My hope is to get the suspension to a point where I can fine tune with tire pressures on track.

Ok, for all the great data supplied: what is the low down on part numbers that are required to achieve V2? And where do you recommend they are supplied from?

In the video with Jim and the passenger on the course, what type of car is the black saloon that you said belongs to Jim?

About how much does v2 cost to do, all said and done? I may get the corner weights of my car soon and would be curious. Would changing the wheels/tires (thus changing the corner weights) have a terribly adverse effect to your calculations if done after fitting the v2 springs?

Oh, and thank you for your work done so far. You could've easily done this on your own and not bothered to share it with us, the time and effort you took to present this to the community should be applauded.

I would love to modify my base model TT's suspension as I find it too abrupt at times. However, I can't justify buying the scales to measure the corner weights. So, now I'm trying to find a shop that has the equipment and experience to get the weights required. I don't think measuring corner weights is something that most auto shops can do, or are ever asked to do. Perhaps some place near a popular race track would be the first place to look. Right?

I'm curious about another aspect of your suspension mod. Why only one linear spring in the front? Wouldn't the front benefit from progressive (stacked) springs as well?

    - v2 for weights from 1450 to 1550kg
    - v3 for weights above 1550kg
For reference, a US spec car with half a tank of gas but otherwise unloaded (ie no driver) is 3300lbs (1500kgs). Probably round that up a bit as my Borla and Milltek cat-delete pipes probably save on the order of 25lbs.

    Thx John.
That re-enforces my view that v2 is likely a safe bet for most.
