What year is your car? That sounds like the key may not be coded to the car-- anyone with VAG-Com can fix it if that is the problem.
Have you swapped the instrument cluster or ECU?

like the title says. My car is immoble and the car and key light flashes when i try to start it. The car starts but dies Im in gardner if anyone is local

If you haven't changed anything on the car (instrument cluster, key, ecu) try a capacitive discharge (disconnect both battery leads and touch them together for 15 seconds).
Try it at your own risk though.

I bet this is mk4 content.
Super easy to delete immo... Just take your whole harness and ECU out, swap with a early passat harness and ECU. Done. Stand back, have a wine cooler... Because now you are awesome!Vag-Com services 1990 through current model year. PM me with your needs.
