Thread: Good bye to No. 3222

  1. 10-07-2012 10:32 AM #1
Today is going to be a real bummer of a day for me. I'm headed to the dealer to sell my car and buy a -- sigh -- Honda.

I'm moving and can't keep it in a garage. I need something I can park on the street in a major city and not care about. There's other reasons, too, but it has to go.

If you live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia there's an immaculate -- and I do mean IMMACULATE -- garage kept, tastefully modified TR R32 with $1,000 in new tires about to come on the market.

I needed something inexpensive that still had some kick. GTIs were out of my range, so a Civic SI. It's not so bad. *Collapses to the floor while weeping.*

I sold it to a dealer. Seriously, it is in IMMACULATE condition. Washed and vacuumed weekly. Waxed every six weeks. I clayed it once a year, so the paint was literally as smooth as glass. It was garage kept and only driven on weekends. I ride my bike to work. It rarely even sat out in the sun.

Basically, they don't even have to vacuum it out to put it on sale.

If you are interested, it's at Checkered Flag Honda in Virginia Beach. They are taking the Borla exhaust off and putting the stock exhaust back, so you may want to stop them if you are genuinely interested.

Mistake selling it to a honda dealer =[. what price did they give you if i can ask? And you should have sold it locally to another enthusiast, would save some heartache

I got a little over book. I would have gotten more had I sold it myself, but I needed to deal with the car situation right away because I have to also sell my place, pack, find a place to live in another city, etc all in the next three weeks.

The downside is they're giving me back my Borla exhaust, which I will have to either sell or move to Boston.

Does Checkered Flag Honda have any relationship with Checkered Flag VW? Many of us have bought from Bud in their parts department, he's a good guy.
I have installed most of the popular bolt-on mods for a 2008 R32, minus suspension work. I know a lot about electronics and car audio, and have experience with VCDS ("vagcom"). I'm a radar/lidar countermeasure enthusiast. I like track days, autocross, and US Highway 129. I love aural pleasure.
