Have any of you who have owned your Beetle for longer periods of time increased your tire pressure for the sake of improved mileage? I have had mixed results with handling on my past several cars, the 2002 Protege didn't feel any different at all running 38-40 psi instead of the suggested 32, while the 2011 Mazda2 turned into what can only be described as a greasy brick if I inflated over 35 psi. I checked my tire pressure this morning and was sitting on 30 psi on all 4 tires (first time I've checked in the month I've owned the car) and I ran them all up to 35. Depending on the feel I may increase that to 38 and try to eek a few more mpgs out that way. Thought I'd start a thread and look for opinions. Thanks!

I was told no more that 3-5 over door sticker CTP. If to much, i get that feel every road crack and I hate that. For what millage increase there would be, it not worth it.

What size tires are on the '12 turbo, and psi on the door?

GTI with 18's, is 38 psi.

I'm at 32psi and am rather happy with the ride, handling and mpg compromise. With snow tires though I tend to run them 8 psi higher due to the crazy soft compounds.
