    I'm looking to get into a 6speed for my 1.8l cis. Want a quicker bottom end with a good highway gear. Would love some info on possibilities and leads on builds. All info is much appreciated.

    just change out your 5th gear to a .75 or .71.

    .71 is in my GTI and you could comfortably sleep behind the wheel. One of the best decisions I made.n
    Piss poor preparation promotes problems!!

    I swapped the 5th in my gti for a .81 and she cruises at 65 really nice now. I drove a friends car that has a .71? it is just to tall, the rev drop between 4th and 5th will screw you at times. Quaife dogbox is badass.

    factory 02M, price varies

    factory 02S (02A style trans), price varies

    Quaife conversion (02A style trans), big $$$$$

    EuroTuning conversion (02A style trans), $1500/$1900

    with only a 1.8 cis i cant see you feeling a true need for more then a diesel 5th gear.

    What did you have to give for that shifter? And how does the cable feel versus the solid linkage?

    Quaife gear set $5600
    VWMS diff $1700
    CAE shifter $1400
    Labour 40 hours +

    That shifter is THE Shizz! period, you have to shift it in person to beleive how nice this is

    A bit steep for me and my 100 dollar cabriolet but definetly down the road when I have 10,000 laying around lol how long is the throw on that shifter?

    I would estimate at about 40-45mm
