Having just watched the Nissan Pixo/£6,995 used car Top Gear UK episode, I started perusing my local craigslist and devised this simple challenge based on the lowest priced new car in America at the moment, the Nissan Versa S, at $10,990. As we all know, it's a pile, but it does have a radio and A/C. So, the rules are this:

    1. $10,990 price limit. NO EXCEPTIONS.

    2. The vehicle must have operable A/C and radio. If neither is mentioned in the ad, the assumption is that they work.

    3. Your search is limited to YOUR LOCAL CRAIGSLIST ONLY and only for ads listed within the LAST 3 DAYS.

    4. You can only post ONE VEHICLE PER DAY. Choose wisely.

Smaller cities will obviously have a much smaller pool to choose from, however a gem might be tucked away in Paducah or Dubuque that no one would think of searching for there.

This isn't necessarily about practicality, cost of ownership, fuel economy, etc. It's just an exercise in what YOU think is the most bang for your Nissan Versa buck. That could be the fastest, the best equipped, the best looking, whatever. The variety is what is going to make this interesting.

    Alright, GO!

Well, I was going to post a pretty '76 280Z, but I don't know if it has air conditioning so I guess that's out.

    Instead, I choose this Cobalt.

    ^^^ Oh man, good find.

Liking all of these, and so far they are all much more desirable than a Versa sedan . Contenders were as varied as what's been posted so far, like a 2004 Accord V6 6-speed coupe and a 1955 Buick Roadmaster sedan. Actually wanted to find an LS, but couldn't find one I liked. Keep 'em coming.

    1991 Gulf Stream Toyota - $6000 (toronto )

43k original KM. Clean. Non-smoker vehicle. No Leaks. Kept in covered parking. Winterized. Updated interior and more than $9k in updates. See details below!

More than $9k in updates to this unit since my purchase in late August 2009. Many of these are major. Updates are listed below and records will be included with the sale, along with all Owner Manuals. I have put less than 3k miles on this unit since all these updates were completed. And unit has been in covered parking. They are like new!

This "Winnie" has been pampered and kept in covered parking for the duration in which we have owned it, and prior according to the previous owner. It is a rare build from Gulf Stream motors. The interior is fresh and has been updated with old wallpaper taken down, cloth cover on the couch, floor tiles and stained kitchen table wood chairs. Many of the expensive mechanical and structural updates have been taken care of so you don't have to! Additionally, the unit has just been winterized, a new cab battery installed and added a new anode rod to the Hot Water Heater.

This unit does not have a generator. The body is clean with no dents and no rust. There are a couple minor spots of rust on the wheel rims and decals are cracked. The paint is in good shape. The title is clear.
